Before we continue with the exploration of the world of Urbis, let me talk a bit about my more technical plans for this comic:
First of all, the planned update schedule for this comic is "weekly". I intend to publish a new strip at least once per week, on Sundays. But I might update more often, if I manage to be particularly creative that week.
I don't want to set any unachievable goals for myself with this comic. One strip a week is something I feel I can do without too much trouble. But I know all too well that for reasons of work, family, or other causes the time I have for this little project can vary enormously. Thus, I will strive to maintain a buffer of two finished but unpublished comics at all time, so that I will be able to continue posting new comics for two weeks even if I don't find the time to actually create new ones. But if my buffer of completed strips grows beyond two, I will post the next strip immediately instead of waiting for the next Sunday. So you can be sure that you will get a new strip every Sunday, but there might be more of them during the week as well.
Secondly, I don't plan to create vast epic sagas for this comic, but short stories. Each chapter will be a complete story of its own, with a definite end. Future stories might re-use established characters or plot points, but each story will be complete on its own.
It's not as if I wouldn't like to a create vast, epic saga for this comic. But I have to be realistic - I don't know how long I can keep this project running and maintain my interest in it. There are too many webcomics out there with multi-year epic story lines that make you anticipate every single strip that follows - and which end apruptly when the author drops it because of lack of time or interest, leaving its fans howling in despair and frustration.
And I don't want you guys to be howling in despair and frustration. ;)
So there will be a series of shorter stories. That way, even if I decide to end the project, you won't get the feeling that these stories are unfinished.
